twitter ate my post

We used to blog more before twitter came along.

Contribute - resolved!

I tore the DWT file to pieces and built from nothing until I could no longer import an image.

Strangely enough. the problem was with this (abbreviated for convenience):

</body>
<!-- TemplateParam name="pagetitle" type="text" value="Bethlehem. PA" -->
<!-- TemplateParam name="bannerImage" type="text" value="/images/header_right.jpg" -->

</html>

No error is thrown. but image stuff doesn't work right unless you do this:

<!-- TemplateParam name="pagetitle" type="text" value="Bethlehem. PA" -->
<!-- TemplateParam name="bannerImage" type="text" value="/images/header_right.jpg" -->

</body>
</html>

Ah. so subtle as to qualify me for another trip to Bethlehem Brew Works

I think Contribute and I will be parting company after this little experience!

Don't blame Contribute if you have </body> before the end of your web page.

Are you saying Contribute is the fault?

Steve's Gravatar I'm saying two things:

1) Contribute exhibits inconsistent behavior when the TemplateParam tags are outside the body tag and that is confusing...if it's going to fail. it should fail loudly.

2) I ran the template syntax checker in Dreamweaver and it claimed that all was well. That turned out to not be the case.

I expect that if something is out of whack. I will be told that something is out of whack instead of experiencing a silent failure. Besides. it's legal to put HTML comments anywhere within an HTML document!

Keith Dodd's Gravatar Trying to find an alternative to Contribute. I just set up for Google Domain Apps: Create Web Pages. Am hoping I can use it to have clients create some of their own pages and/or page inserts. and then bring into main site with cfhttp. massaging the html. Don't know how well will work. but it's free and looks like might be able to do some simple stuff. Here is link to just a quickly created test page:

Phillip Senn's Gravatar I've heard about a free Content Management System
called FarCry.
